GERING, Neb. (May 5, 2023) - Gering Public Schools is proud to announce that Gering alumnus, Jon Hutchison, has been named Assistant Principal of Gering Junior High (GJHS) beginning in the 2023-24 school year. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Social Studies from Chadron State College and a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia University.
Hutchison has been a social studies educator at Gering Junior High since 2014. He has also held several coaching positions for the district, including his current role as Head Coach for Boys Golf. In addition to his leadership in the classroom and athletics, Hutchison has served on a variety of building leadership teams.
“Jon will be an exceptional assistant principal. He has a wonderful ability to connect with all students and that will be vital for our school as we grow and improve," shares Julie Siebke.
Hutchison will succeed current GJHS Assistant Principal, Julie Siebke, who has been promoted to principal and will begin her new role in July.
“I am beyond excited to serve Gering Public Schools in this new capacity as assistant principal at GJHS. My family and I are all proud Gering Bulldogs," shares Hutchison. "Julie is an outstanding leader and we are going to make a great team. I look forward to growing our culture of excellence and working with students and families to promote a positive, rewarding environment where all of our students can succeed."
The Gering Board of Education is scheduled to approve the appointment of Hutchison at the May Board Meeting.
