We have two special evenings planned for families this spring where students and families can thoughtfully explore their next schools, meet staff, and learn about all the opportunities ahead.
🎓 GEAR Up For High School – 8th Grade Preview Night
Thursday, March 5 | 6:00 p.m. | GHS Gym
Current 8th graders and their families are invited to 8th Grade Preview Night at Gering High School. This event is designed to help students explore high school life, plan their path, and get ready for a smooth transition to 9th grade.
Highlights:
🏫 Building tours to see classrooms
🍕 Food provided
🎭 Club & Student Organization Fair – learn about extracurriculars and how to get involved
🌟 Exciting finish to the day after the Career Pathways Exploration Day students will experience during the school day
Families will also have the chance to ask questions and connect with staff, discovering ways for students to stay engaged and get the most out of their high school experience.
🚏 Next Stop: GMS – 5th Grade Next Level Night
Monday, April 20 | 6:00 p.m. | GMS Library
Incoming 5th graders and their families are invited to Next Level Night at Gering Middle School. This evening is all about helping students feel confident, excited, and ready for middle school.
Highlights:
👋 Meet staff and learn what to expect at GMS
🍕 Food will be provided
🎺 Explore band instruments and learn about beginning band
🤝 Ask questions and make new friends
This event follows the April 17 in-school visit, where 5th graders get a first look at middle school life. Next Level Night is the perfect opportunity for families to continue the experience together.
