FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(November 26, 2025 - Gering, Neb)- Gering Public Schools is pleased to share the 2025 Nebraska Department of Education AQUeSTT results, offering a clear view of how our schools are performing and where we are focusing our efforts to support our students.

While these results don’t capture every factor that contributes to a student’s success, they provide a helpful indicator of the progress being made across the district. These numbers reflect the dedication of our teachers, staff, and families, and the consistent efforts to provide high-quality learning experiences for all Bulldogs.

Superintendent Dr. Nicole Regan shared, "The work of public education is never complete, but it is deeply meaningful when we see Gering students growing. These results give us insight into the positive difference our schools are making, while also guiding us on where to focus next."

Understanding AQUeSTT Classifications

Each Nebraska public school is placed into one of four categories based on the AQUeSTT accountability system:

  • Excellent

  • Great

  • Good

  • Needs Support to Improve

AQUeSTT measures progress over the previous school year, so a school’s classification reflects the learning and growth of students in 2024-25. Families and community members can view the full district snapshot on the Nebraska Department of Education website.

Two of our five schools improved their classification in 2025, a significant milestone:

  • Lincoln Elementary jumped to Excellent, the highest classification a school can achieve.

  • Gering High School advanced to Great, reflecting continued growth and expanding opportunities for students.
