GMS to Host Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly
GMS is hosting a special Veterans Day celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, to honor local military veterans for their service. The event begins with a Veterans Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. in Ms. Smith’s room, followed by a school-wide assembly from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. in the gym.
The school is also preparing a Veterans Day Slideshow to highlight local heroes connected to GMS students and staff. Families can participate by emailing a photo of their student with their veteran, or holding a picture of them, to Mrs. Stephens at sstephens@geringschools.net.
Email submissions should include:
The veteran's name
Their military branch
Their years of service
The student's name
If honoring more than one veteran, families should combine them into a single photo. Anyone who would like to reuse a photo submitted for last year's presentation can simply email Mrs. Stephens to request it.
