GHS Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Team Earns $50,000

The Gering High School Samsung Solve for Tomorrow team made history as one of three teams to be selected as a national winner and earning a $150,000 Samsung technology package in 2017 and then a national finalist earning another $50,000 in Samsung technology in 2018.  With the design of a three-stage washing machine filtration system, the team was selected as one of ten national finalists to pitch their idea to a panel of product experts.  The pitch team of Rachel Rawlings, Adam Moench, and Ken Witcofski, pitched the product at a recent event in New York.  Gering is the first school ever to have two national finalist teams selected.

The Gering team and the other finalists made an April 11th appearance on Good Morning America for the announcement of the contest winners.

This year's Samsung Solve Team was made up of 44 engineering students.  The classes are taught by Mr. Justin Reinmuth.
