Gering High School Engineering Students Launch High-Altitude Weather Balloon

During the early hours of Saturday, January 12th, Gering High School Engineering students launched a high-altitude weather balloon.  Students launched the balloon to document the view of the Earth from nearly 100,000 feet in the stratosphere.

YMCA After School Childcare Program Offered in Gering

The YMCA is partnering with GPS to offer an after school childcare program this year for GPS students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The YMCA After School Childcare Program will run from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and from 2:30 until 5:30 on Wednesdays to accommodate early release. Program fees will be $10 per day per child.
